From its inception in 1988, the California Medical Association Alliance Foundation has been a financial support to the CMAA and its local Alliances. Its 501c(3) status allows the CMA Alliance to provide monetary assistance to the County Alliances, aiding them in preparing and offering health oriented projects in their respective communities. To date the CMAA Foundation has donated over $90,000 in grants to local Alliances.
The Foundation, a volunteer organization, has joined CMA Alliance community efforts to provide and present projects, created by Alliance members, including Childhood Obesity, ADD, Breast and Prostate Cancer Awareness. The Foundation has helped Alliance members to create Anti-Violence education, information about Bullying, Helmet Safety, and most recently, Screen Out, a program dedicated to the elimination of smoking in film and television productions. The CMAA Foundation has also assisted state and local Alliance groups with participation in the AMAA’s Save Programs.
The CMAA Foundation also provides grants to the CMAA itself to underwrite informational lectures at the General Leadership Conferences so that members may be educated and motivated and return to their homes with current health information. The Foundation realizes that when educational programs and projects are implemented, one can INFLUENCE AND CHANGE life style behaviors.
Tax deductible contributions are both needed and welcomed. Ten percent of all unrestricted donations will be applied to the Foundation Endowment Fund to ensure our continued growth and stability. Of course, all donations are deductible to the extent permitted by law.
CMA Alliance's thoughtful partnership with the CMA Alliance Foundation and their belief in its mission to improve community health is truly appreciated. And the Foundation thanks CMAA for continued donations and support.
