It is with much pleasure that we nominate Meta Lightfoot for this year’s Dedicated County Alliance Member.
Meta is currently Vice-President of Membership, Co-Chair of our annual Garden Tour, Chair of the Holiday Card fundraiser for students entering the field of medicine, committee member of Hidden Talents raising money for our newest Health Awareness Project focusing on decreasing childhood obesity and promoting active living, creator of the Member directory and has her hand in many more areas.
When you think of Meta, you think, “Tireless driver in attaining and retaining new members.” She is the smile and hug you get every time you see her whether you are new to the Alliance or a seasoned member. She is an out of the box thinker when it comes to membership. She is creative and outgoing. She is a gentle leader.
Only involved since 2003, she became Board Secretary 2003-2005. During her involvement in the Garden Tour, she focused her work to find the perfect gardens in 2005. She was Holiday Greeting Card chair 2007 and 2007, Membership chair since 2006, and Directory chair since 2006 and Directory chair since 2006.
If you ask Meta, “What makes the Alliance important to me?” She says, “Through the Alliance, I am giving back to the community. Through fundraising, we the Alliance are able to give money to worthy causes.” When asked what she enjoys most about the Alliance, “Camaraderie.”
Meta symbolizes the best in all of the Sonoma County Medical Association Alliance and Foundation. We are so proud to be a part of her infectious humor, generosity and true kindness.
