A recent luncheon gathering for the San Luis Obispo County Alliance

Alice Kolb: 2008 San Luis Obispo Dedicated County Member

Alice Kolb became a member of the SLO County Alliance in 1976, when her husband Gary opened his Internal Medicine practice in Morro Bay.That first year she served on the Membrship Committee, calling members to keep them ingormed of meetings and fundraisers. Other early activities of her Alliance membership include: modeling in fashion shows, quilting and playing bridge.

She co-chaired several fundraisers and later served as Vice-President for programs, then as President for SLO County in 1984-85. For a time her junior tennis playing children kept her too busy for a leadership role in the Alliance, but she did become active again in 2003, by organizing an evening of music, art and wine at a local gallery.

This was followed by her second time as President for the 2004-2005 year. She assumed the office of Treasurer for her county in 2006 and continues to serve in this capacity. She has been CMAA Treasurer this past year. In May 2007, she helped organize a silent auction at the Installation of Officers Dinner. This past year she complied, produced and distributed the SLO County Alliance directory, has maintained the mailing list, and hosted the Past President’s Luncheon in her home. Alice has supported the Alliance’s provision and supplies to a local homeless shelter and she is always avaiable fro meetings of our sub-groups: “Whine and Wine and Practice Partners."

Alice has managed her husband’s office in the past. Currently she performs billing and codong duties for her spouse and is offering her services as an independent billing consultant. She is the mother of six children who are proud fo their mother’s involvement in the community through the Alliance. Her daughters, Kara, Karly and Kaitlin have all volunteered with their mother in support of Alliance projects and functions.
