What a joy it is to present the SCCMA Alliance “Dedicated County Alliance Member” for 2008...

Dr. Madhur Bhatnagar has been a member of our local and state Alliance for several years. While she has not held specific offices in our Alliance she has been a real spark plug igniting health projects and providing avenues for our members to collaborate with and support community health education efforts.

As a committee member for our county’s “Meet Me at the Vineyard” fundraising events she has attracted many volunteers from outside our normal pool and has single-handedly provided dazzling decorations and amazing raffle baskets for the auctions, not to mention staffing a “Project Table” at the events to educate the public about health resources in a local underserved area of the county.

This August our Alliance will again collaborate with her to support and staff her favorite outreach, the 6th Annual Gardner Family Health Fair spotlighting Childhood Obesity. Last year’s fair featured Heart Health and reached over 700 visitors. Not well known is the fact that Dr. B personally funds much of the daylong education, fun and health screening event.

Dr. B involves and energizes all who come into contact with her. Her spirit is “can do” and she includes and welcomes all ages and all backgrounds to her zest for life. Last June our medical association recognized her for “Outstanding Contribution in Community Service.” The SCCMA Alliance is honored to nominate her for another of her many roles, “Dedicated County Alliance Member.”
